Margarites is a well-known pottery center of Crete. It is located in scenic, green rolling hills at the foothills of Psiloritis. Traditional settlement with some extraordinary architecture and lovely narrow winding streets. Surrounded by two parallel gorges with rich flora, aromatic plants, trees, herbs and flowers. the ride is a pleasure to the senses. The fresh air in the magnificent, verdourous gorge of Margarites keeps the ride cool!
Panormo - Perama - Melisourgaki - Orthes - Margarites - Ageliana
We ride on asphalt roads, (road biking) or mixed terrain (mountain biking), in quiet country side. Heading south from Perama we reach Melisourgaki and other villages on the foothills of Psiloritis. Reaching Margarites we have a bike stop for coffee break, or an optional visit to the pottery collection exhibition. We return through the gorge of Margarites.
